Hi everyone, I’m in a bit of a dilemma and could really use some perspective.

I’m currently a master's student in the UK. I recently received and accepted a placement offer from a growing logistics company. It’s a solid role, and I was happy to take it.

However, shortly after accepting, I got an invitation to interview for an Amazon Retail Vendor Manager (RVM) Internship.

The company I’ve already accepted does not have a sponsorship license. As an international student, my long-term goal is to transition to a Skilled Worker visa eventually. Amazon obviously has a licence and a clear track record of sponsoring graduates.

My Questions:

  1. Is it worth reneging on the first offer if I get the Amazon role? I’m worried about the ethics of it, but the sponsorship issue feels like a major factor for my future.
  2. For those who have done an RVM internship, how likely is it to lead to a permanent, sponsored role?
  3. Should I be upfront about my current commitment during the interview?

I feel bad about potentially backing out, but I have to prioritize my ability to stay in the UK long-term. What would you do?
