Hey friends, how do you know when you’re actually out of your body?

I’ll give some context. I’ve been practicing astral projection for about two weeks now, and today I had what I think was my closest experience so far.

I was lying on my back with my eyes closed, listening to a guided meditation. Usually nothing really happens, I just feel my arms and legs going numb, maybe a slight tingling, but that’s it. This time it was very different. I started feeling strong vibrations, like my whole body was vibrating, but it didn’t scare me, it actually made me feel very relaxed.

Then I started visualizing myself kind of melting down a slide, like I was turning into water, and I actually began to feel that way. At some point I stopped feeling the bed and it felt like I was floating. I wasn’t scared at all, I actually felt happy, like I was really close and on the right track.

But then I didn’t know what to do next. I’m not sure if I’m supposed to just wait until it happens on its own, or if I need to actively do something to get out. What I did was try to physically get up, thinking I would get up in my astral body, but I just moved my physical body and broke the whole process.

So my question is, how do you actually know when you’re leaving your body? What does it feel like? Do you feel a separation, or do you just start floating? Does your astral body move forward on its own? Do you start seeing things even with your eyes closed? I don’t really understand what’s supposed to happen.

Also, when I reach the vibration stage, am I supposed to apply a technique at that exact moment? Like imagining climbing a rope, pulling myself up, or something like that? Or should I just let it happen without forcing it?

Either way, I’m really happy because this felt like a very close attempt, and it made me feel like I’m getting there.
