Hello everyone, I’m from Toronto, Canada and I’m looking to buy an engagement ring for my girlfriend. My girlfriend wants a 2.50-3 CT Radiant LAB diamond with a 18K yellow gold petite iced solitaire band. We’ve been shopping around and realized that Toronto is pretty expensive when it comes to engagement rings.

Originally my budget was $4500 before tax but the jeweller offered me $5500 all in before taxes which comes to $6323.63 CAD tax included (tax in Montreal is 14.975%).
I’m very skeptical now and not sure if I’m getting ripped off and actually getting a good deal. Any thoughts will be very helpful as I want to make sure if I’m spending thousands that this is something that’s actually worth this price.
