Hello, I am writing on behalf of my step dad who is currently in the ICU on BiPap. Staff is suggesting to ventilate him (intubate) asap but my step dad is terrified. It’s not emergency state just yet but they believe he is heading towards emergency state. Any suggestions at all? Is it best to hold off another day and spend time with him now? Is it better to intubate immediately and pray to have him back eventually? How long do gvhd patients end up staying on a ventilator? What does recovery look like?
Please share any tips, any experience! Any medications that have worked ? 🙏🙏🙏
