We are planning our honeymoon for this October and although we’d bounced around a million ideas, we settled on visiting Rome and Athens!!! We chose just two major cities because we don’t want our trip to be go-go-go throughout multiple different cities and packing up each day - so we are spending 4-5ish days in each city! The goal is to have about 3 full days packed in plus two open days to have more relaxed exploration and take at least one day trip.

If anyone has recs day trips out of those cities, please share!! There are so many beautiful places and it’s so hard to decide 😭 Thinking Pompeii from Rome and possible Delphi from Athens but open to ideas! (I am a major Greek mythology nerd so it is SO hard to pick just one place)

Also wondering about hotel recommendations for both cities!! We are thinking hotel over Airbnb because of the local impact and also just the convenience!! Would love to find some more boutique hotels but also would love any hotels within our credit card portals to earn some extra points (Chase & Capital One). We are mid-range budget-wise! We would love a beautiful place (as it is our honeymoon) but our main goal is just to have a clean, safe place to sleep and we won’t spend too much time there during the days!
