Last Monday I got into a terrible car wreck due to me failing to yield the right of way at stop sign. It was with a commercial vehicle, and I was cited with failure to yield causing serious injury. I wasn’t under any substances & I made a terrible mistake thinking the truck was turning despite not having a signal on.

I have no criminal record, I’m 20 years old & in college working two jobs. The man potentially is paralyzed from the waist down from the officer telling me, he has no feelings in his legs. I’ve contacted insurance and opened a claim and I am just trying to guess what will happen to me. My life feels like it is over for sure. I have been told I’m not going to jail but I will pay a lot of fines & license revoked of course. I’m hoping for a miracle to happen to the man injured

I’m uncertain of what will happen to me

I caused an accident the other day by mistaking a Commercial Truck’s decision due to me thinking he was in the right turning lane. I pulled out thinking this and then caused an accident, both vehicles totaled and the Sgt at the scene said the Driver of the 18 wheeler could be paralyzed from the waist down. I failed everyone and injured a man for life. Citation is for failure to yield but it probably will be escalated due to the severity. First accident at 20 years old and I ruined a man’s future. I’m 100% certain I will get jailtime, no excuse for that I was sober as well.
