Feeling super deflated
I (F33), was diagnosed with IBS-D around 13ish years ago, over the last few years it's been getting worse and I've seen a few different doctors in that time. Initially one GP thought I had endometriosis so had scans and specialist appointments, was supposed to have a colonoscopy but whilst waiting, we moved and it didn't end up happening so now I'm in the process of getting everything restarted. I just had my first appointment with a gastroenterologist this afternoon and I was hoping to potentially start getting some answers. She wants to do a colonoscopy and also gave me a prescription for Viberzi. I was SO excited to have something to try and of course came straight to reddit to read about other people's experiences and do some research (used google too obviously), only to discover that people without gallbladders SHOULD NOT be prescribed Viberzi because of severe risk of pancreatitis 😭 even though it was our first appointment together, she knew that I didn't have a gallbladder as always make sure to mention it to new doctors/specialists. So now I'm feeling annoyed and deflated having just spent $70CAD on a drug I apparently shouldn't even use 😒
