I recently received a year round offer with a June 7 move in date. The problem is I won't be back in Van until late August and do not want to waste 3 months of rent, so my only options is to sublet the room. Does anyone have experience doing this? What is the difference between submitting a sublet application in the housing portal vs. listing the room on a Facebook group? If you submitted a sublet application, was it approved fast and do you know the likelihood? Is the process manageable if I won't be there in person at all? I'm hesitant on accepting because I'm afraid I won't end up finding a sublessee. Thanks!
