I'm currently looking into supply chain management or international business, and have seen good and bad posts about both degrees. I've also seen people mention that you can do basically the same jobs with more specialty if you pursue an accounting, finance or economics degree instead. I definitely want to minor or possibly double major in Spanish, so I'm going to have another language to supplement whatever degree I choose. I'm also willing to double major in a combination of the above degrees if possible, or do a major-minor. I just don't know which one (or two) would be the best choice.
Overall, in your opinion, which of these seems to be the best option? Or, if you have experience in these fields/degrees, can you offer any advice? Are there other degrees similar to these that I may not have considered yet? Is your job worth it?
I'm mostly worried about regretting pursuing a degree that I don't really need or hating my job in the future. I've seen a lot of people say international business is too broad and a waste of time, that supply chain management is a terrible job and you don't need a degree for it, that econ doesn't really prepare you for finding a job, etc, though I know those are basically gripes with every degree right now. I'm looking to stay away from the super saturated job markets like engineering, psychology, and tech because more and more kids just keep on going for those degrees. It pays well now, but by the time I'm out of college, I wouldn't be surprised if finding a job in those fields is getting difficult. Plus, I don't really have a vested interest in any of those subjects, and was hoping to find a good job in something similar to the paths above. Any advice or comments are appreciated!
