External blower downdraft

Has anyone connected Viking telescopic downdraft to Thermador external blower motor ?
We are thinking of using thermador external blower motor as it is compatible with our present duct size but we would like to use Viking downdraft instead of thermador. Is it possible?

We are planning to renovate our kitchen and we don’t have a good spot for fridge. The only spot available is next to pantry something like this in the pic. Does anyone have this type of configuration in their house. Does it affect opening of the fridge doors ?
