Parents of Autistic Kids - Whats the best support you get from family?
My brother and SIL have 2 autistic children, both with some serious behavioural issues at the moment that seem to be escalating. They are really in the trenches and my dad and I are really concerned about the mental well being of the parents while they navigate what is a really difficult time. I can tell my SIL especially is reaching the end of her tether. She has had SI in the past and I know she is broken right now.
Its difficult being on the outside looking in and not knowing how to help them because I know we only get small glimpses into their world and I guess what I would like to know from other parents who have been in my brothers shoes, what is the best way your family support you and your kids?
