Current snack of choice

I know some people will hate me for this 😂 I ran out of cilantro and jalapeños so this isn’t my best salsa/Pico de gallo but a serving of corn chips and this whole lot of yummy spicy salsa is like 150cal and it takes me awhile to scoop and eat it all so it’s super satisfying

First time successfully losing weight

Hi I’m 26yrs old, living in NZ. I was an active and healthy child/teenager but somewhere between university and my 3 children I gained a lot of weight. I’m 5’6 and was 107kg. It was such a wake up call for me when I didn’t even fit in some types of chairs with arms at resteraunt! And couldn’t shop at basic clothing stores anymore, I needed the plus size section. And I realised I don’t want to be missing out on life because of my weight. I also got into hiking and realised just how much more likely I am to have an injury when I’m carrying more weight on my joints.

So…the research began. I’ve tried to lose weight many times, usually by pure exercise and seen barely any results. I’d usually lose 4-5kg over a few months and then give up.

This time I went purely for a calorie deficit. And I weighed and measured every bite. It was eye opening to see how much calories were going into my body and I thought I was a healthy eater!!

I’m now 3 months in. 9kg down. Still going strong. I just finished a 2 week calorie break where I ate at maintenance, I think it’s called cycling, to stop my body adapting to the low cals.

I’m feeling really encouraged, really motivated. I walk and cycle 3-4 days a week when the weather allows but other than that I’m not doing any special exercise, just being mindful to get some steps in on sedentary days.

My goal loss is 30kg. Has anyone else lose this amount of weight purely on calories?
