So I was traveling in 2AC yesterday. Normal journey. I sat down, got comfortable, and there was this girl across me—quiet, polite, minding her own business.

Good vibe from the start.

We started talking casually.

Where she’s from, what she studies, solo travel—everything normal.

Very sorted girl. No overacting, no unnecessary questions.

Rare these days.

BUT.

There was also one guy sitting diagonally opposite.

From the beginning only… side-eyeing our conversation 👀

At first I ignored. Thought maybe coincidence.

But no.

Every time we spoke, he would suddenly look up like:

“haan haan I’m not listening but I’m definitely listening” 💀

Girl also noticed.

At one point she leaned slightly and whispered:

“Aunty he’s been staring since long…”

I said: “Haan beta, mujhe bhi lag raha hai… free ka podcast sun raha hai.” 😭

We both tried to ignore.

Anyway, conversation continued nicely.

Then she asked about my family.

So I casually said:

“Mera beta IAS hai…”

Now here’s the difference.

No drama.

No “OMG WHATTT”.

Just a smile and:

“That’s really impressive aunty.”

Class.

Then after some time she politely asked:

“Aunty photo hai kya?”

Not in a desperate way… just normal curiosity.

I liked that.

So I showed a few pictures.

Meanwhile THAT GUY…

Literally leaning a little, pretending to check his phone but clearly zooming in on our conversation 💀

I almost told him:

“Beta tumhara interview nahi chal raha hai, relax.”

Girl saw this and started laughing quietly.

She said:

“Aunty I think he’s more interested than me.”

I said:

“Beta shortlist bhi nahi hoga, tension mat lo.” 😭

Conversation kept getting better.

She was sensible, grounded, no fake excitement.

Honestly… I was liking her vibe.

So before things got awkward because of Mr. CID sitting there…

I asked her:

“Beta agar tumhe theek lage… would you like to stay in touch? I can share my son’s number.”

She got a little surprised, but smiled and said:

“Yes aunty, I’d like that.”

I wrote the number on a small piece of paper.

Didn’t want to say it out loud because someone was already collecting data for free 💀

Next station came.

She got up to leave.

Before going, she said:

“Nice meeting you aunty… and thank you.”

Very genuine.

I handed her the paper quietly.

She took it, smiled… and left.

And THEN.

That guy finally speaks:

“Aunty IAS hai kya aapka beta?”

I just looked at him and said:

“Haan beta… but vacancy khatam ho gayi.” 🙂

Silence. Beautiful silence.

(Ps. Satire, before anyone asks 😭)
