hot take: abby was the victim
i won't write an essay even though i could if prompted, but after a few years of being a diehard tlou fan and replaying the game countless times, it eventually put things in perspective and made me realise how bad of a path ellie really took, in turn fucking up abby's life.
think about it, abby was a firefly, had a nice boyfriend, an awesome dad, then one day an old man storms their hideout and murders most of her friends and associates, her dad included.
obviously it was a very traumatic experience, so she gets consumed by guilt, hunts down joel and kills him. obviously its brutal but if you were in her shoes, you'd get carried away too, she even spares ellie and tommy.
in turn? ellie and tommy hunt down and kill all of her friends, including a pregnant woman (obviously ellie didn't know, but still) and murder 1/3 of her settlement (the wlf).
abby, IN MY OPINION, is the victim.
