▲ 5 r/braces

i got my braces early april of last year and have gone for regular checkups and tightens however my most recent appointment about a week ago i had my first in depth talk about the process of my treatment after changing orthodontist

my new orthodontist expressed his concern as they took out my second molars up top (the teeth second towards the back) and said that he doesn’t understand why those teeth were removed when it said in my treatment plan was to have my pre molars removed to help move my teeth backwards to help my over bite and now with the teeth they have removed my overbite won’t be fixed as instead of 3 teeth pulling against 3 it’s 5 against one which instead of my teeth shifting back the back molars on either side will be pulled forward

i am very upset over this as with both teeth removals i developed dry socket and was put through hell with them when those teeth were perfectly healthy and didn’t need to be taken out and the only option i really have is in november when i get my current set of braces off is to go get the pre molars removed and have my braces back on

my old orthodontist wouldn’t tell me anything about my treatment and said my worries were down to anxiety even though when i received my rubber bands around november last year i hadn’t seen any improvement after wearing them 24/7 as recommended, i really do not want to go through another teeth removal and another set of braces but it seems like it’s my only option
