Things won’t change overnight like in the movie Mudhalvan. Many people are already demanding everything immediately—₹2500 monthly assistance, 200 units of free electricity, one sovereign of gold for marriage, free travel on all buses, a ring for newborns, six gas cylinders per year, and so on. They are only coming to power tomorrow. Among the MLAs who are about to take office, most are first-timers. We need to give them some time to understand how departments function, how governance works, and how authority operates. Like we say “breathing space,” they should be given that time—whether it’s six months, one year, or even two years. Until then, let the existing schemes continue. Let’s see when and how they introduce new policies. They are new, so they need time to learn. There’s no need to constantly criticize them. Because whether you voted or not, whether you like it or not, it’s going to be a TVK government now. For the next few years, even if they are still learning, government officials will definitely guide them properly. Governance depends on how well they manage and control that system. After that, we can start listing out genuine issues and criticisms. There’s no need to get tense, pressured, or overly emotional right now. People clearly want change. They don’t want DMK or AIADMK anymore—they voted for an alternative. That reflects the people’s trust, and it shouldn’t be taken lightly. Did people vote just because these benefits were promised? That’s not even necessary to debate. It’s not simply because Vijay said all this that people voted. They voted because they wanted an alternative to DMK and AIADMK. And beyond that, they have trust in Vijay. Let’s hope he lives up to that trust. So, don’t get too emotional. Sit back, relax, and watch. If the government performs well, appreciate it. If it doesn’t, observe for a year or two, then raise your concerns. See whether they correct their mistakes—that’s all.
