Got an escape route (another offer, double the salary) shortly after beginning at a FC. Literally the most bizarre onboarding experience. Hated everything about warehouse life; very high school-like, cliques, and people yapping about you because you’re the new shiny toy with a soul and everything else about Amazon is soulless. Within the first two days, my Learning Ambassador was walking me through the building and after seeing some people talking and looking, leaned in saying, “You already have your own little fan club. People have been asking about you”. Another person, someone I hadn’t met yet, said “oh yeah, you’re the one who xyz”. When I asked how he knew, he said people were talking but wouldn’t get into exactly what was said.
And honestly, I WAS feeling bad about leaving so soon after joining, but Friday I was told I needed to wear my hair up or cut it even though I’m not on the floor and also to cut my nails because they were too long- even though I measured them the first day with my Learning Ambassador and they were more than fine length wise.
But because two teams asked about mine specifically (what I was told) ofc *I* have to go out of my way to make a last minute nail appointment and pay before coming back in…Even though they’re within standard. Yes, I measured them again 💀 They said they would’ve told me sooner in the week but didn’t want to make me cut them mid-week. Good, I wouldn’t have and I still won’t lol
So no, I don’t feel bad anymore. Sorry not sorry, it was Mother’s Day weekend and I already had plans with my friends and family- neither amazon or their sign on bonus matters. Peace ya’ll and good luck
