I started off with a Canon 1100D couple months ago. It was good when I first started out, but over time it just wasn’t enough for me, so I went big and bad. The Canon 90D I got secondhand and this thing is damn spanking brand new! There’s no wear on the buttons at all, nor any damage on the LCD screen, mirror or sensor, just slight leather wear in the finger grip area. Got it for 700 $AUD with the original box and receipt!

I mainly do train photography but sometimes I’ll do side quests and try doing nature photography, something I’ve been sort of wanting to get into, a long with landscape if I do leap into that category. I mainly do daylight photos but I will do night photos sometimes and it’s good enough for it.

I’ve had the Canon 90D for under a week now and it is just a beast of a camera to use, perfect for what I do.

I currently use a Canon 55-250mm f4-5.6 IS II with it (as seen in the image), it’s a lens that was passed on from my Canon 1100D. I’m thinking of buying a Canon 18-135mm f3.5-5.6 IS Nano-USM lens and an STM version of my current lens, so I can get the best of both worlds out of the two and to really maximise what this camera can do. I’m also debating on a prime fast lens mainly for night shots.

Hello! I recently upgraded from my Canon 1100D to the Canon 90D and it’s got 3 shutters for me to use. Mechanical, Elec. 1st Curtain, and Full Electronic. But I mainly want to ask about the first two as I use them mainly.

I do a lot of train photography and sometimes nature photography.

What is really the main difference between the two shutters, and what are they best for?
