Current peds PGY-1 with prior prelim surgery year looking to transition into anesthesiology. I’ve been reaching out about reassignment/unexpected vacancy positions, but also wondering about bridge roles within anesthesia departments (pre-op clinic, research, perioperative coordinator, anesthesia assistant, etc.) that could strengthen my application while reapplying.

Has anyone taken this route or found positions that helped them successfully transition into anesthesia? Would appreciate any advice.
