I've seen tens of these lately, mainly on yt and TikTok, and it's always a small channel that's never talked about Avatar before, like not even once, except maybe this 1.8 M channel that I forgot its name, someone was just talking about it here too.
Again, I am a firm believer of the "Zutara hate is manufactured and paid for" train, but what do you guys think?
I feel like I see this "argument" every time someone mentions Zutara, but let's be honest here, they DO look very good together, Zuko is handsome, actually, very handsome for his age, and by book 3, neither of them feel like their assigned age tbvh.
I believe that him being beautiful contributed to a part of the reason why we love Zutara, it did for me personally, him in season 3 was a surprise for me, the hairstyle and how he expressed himself. And ofc, adult Zuko, both in the comic and the movie (WOOF WOOF *FERAL MOVIE ZUKO NOISES* WOOF WOOF)
Also, there was a post here about the movie plot holes and only incorrect reasons are allowed, Imma steal this trend...

Idk if it's biased towards Zutarians but whenever I see kataang fanart/fiction, I rarely see Zutara mentioned unless it Kataang-ers running their mouths, so why do they love to come here and talk the talk??
As an avid and feral shipper (I ship Gojohime y'all can't hurt me, I basically live off crumbs, coffee, ao3 absolute loving beautiful FILTH ffs (I'm a "Gojo has a praise kink" truther, HE HAS A PRAISE KINK) and delusions) I never thought I'd ship Zutara when I first saw ATLA, actually when I first heard about Zutara I was flabbergasted😂
But honestly, what made me absolutely ship them was when he took her on her revenge adventure, something about him being the only one to stand by her in that decision, knowing how much her mother's death has affected her, made me fall in love completely.
Also this is like my 4th?? 5th post in two days??? I need help fr🙂↔️🫠

Personally, I believe that all "arguments" against Zutara are stupid, possiblly driven by the fact that the creator himself indulges in that behavior, but I don't think I've ever seen anything more stupid than the "they're toxic" argument.
Toxic how exactly?? Because he was her enemy?? Mind you the guy literally chased down one of his OWN people for her, just so she can get her revenge, his nation wanted him dead because he joined and taught the avatar, it's basically a very watered down version of the "oppressor and oppressed" which I can at least see a tiny bit valid given his nation's actions.
But you wanna talk toxic?? Let's talk about the guy she married (again, I do genuinely love Aang) who:
But suuuure, the guy who let her touch the most sensitive part of him (his scar y'all.....I see you), who opened up to her just because she cried, who never got mad at her when she accused him of heinous things, whom she pushed away because she didn't trust him (her right tbvh) and he WORKED to get that forgiveness, who accepted her anger and revenge and took her on a journey to heal her, who chose her to go with him in the most important moment of his life, his literal defining future, who took care of her children, yeah he's definitely toxic.
And listen, at the end of the day, I understand why some like Kataang, they've had cute moments, Aang is naturally adorable, different opinions and scenarios, I respect that, what I don't respect is the unnatural, and yes 100000000% inorganic hate that's landing on Zutara (istg I've heard/read posts almost identical in their "points", almost word for word)
There's a Zutara edit I saw the ends with the scene of Zuko jumping on the roof and fighting surrounded by fanfics, if anyone saw it can you pls put a link here
Each time I've seen Zutara hate it's always the same sh*t, the "oppressor" and oppressed, they're not that close, Katara hated him, Katara ditched him to go to aang when they were in the crystal cave (mind you he was STILL her enemy), you just ship them because he's taller, they have no chemistry (just say y'all didn't watch ATLA), they're not canon, they're toxic,...etc
And aside from the peer pressure to hate on them just because the ATLA creator is a sour loser who can't accept that people have opinions, I just don't understand WHY someone would hate them, they're literally made up by people who loved the show and the characters.
Zuko literally had the best redemption arc in all of animation history, their first argument (the oppressor) completely CANCELS Zuko's whole personal journey, saying her's an oppressor when he agreed to leave the minute aang comes with him willingly, him going against his OWN family, like...? Are we fr??
I'm not even venturing into why kataang is problematic and very incel like, I'm not here to hate on anyone's ships and I truly love Aang, but if someone genuinely has a reason why they get that much hate, pls tell me
For starters, I don't mind kataang at all, adult them is very cute but I just don't vibe with them that much and I don't know where else to ask this question.
So I've noticed a very sudden surge in their popularity, and ik it's because aang got hot (he's fine af ngl would definitely bend for him), but these sudden numbers feel kind of inorganic?? Ik that the creators are very anti Zutara to the point where they mocked Zutara fanart in a con in 2008 (not really the point of this post but I feel it's important) so could it be that the ship is made popular by pushing the algorithm?? Like how shit goes on X??
Idk if this is smth normal with the new avatar movie dropping, but I also feel like most of those edits are mostly newgen who probably never watched the series itself, is it normal or am I just tweaking?
