I’m seeing a worrying trend in companies giving you a verbal offer, then ghosting you, then confessing they gave the job to someone else. This happened to me not long ago and has just happened to my friend twice. This absolutely should be made illegal because I’m sure there are people out there who then gave their notice in to their current job only for this nightmare to happen to them.

In my case I did 4 rounds of interviews, given a verbal offer. They ghosted me for 2 weeks and I had to get the original recruiter to investigate. I was then told I was too expensive and they went with someone else. But for a bit of karma I noticed the same job was back on their website again 2 months later. I guess their cheaper alternative bounced 😂
