Hi everyone! I hope those who are also sitting the SQE2 exams right now are taking some time to rest in between the written and oral exams, and I'm sure the written exams all went better than you think (trust me, I'm defo overthinking them too!)

I'd really appreciate some advice, either from those of you sitting the exams right now or anyone who has previously sat the SQE2 exams, on how to best write up the attendance note in the 25 minutes. I am really struggling to finish the attendance note within the required time, and I think it is because I am trying to write out the key facts again in the attendance note rather than incorporating the interview notes. However, my provider hasn't really made it clear whether this is a common/acceptable way of writing the attendance note, and how you would go about it.

I guess I just wanted to ask whether it is okay to write bullet points or short prose sentences of the key facts in the interview (i.e. about the assets, information on the deceased, etc.) and then incorporate this into the attendance note by saying something along the lines of "Please see notes attached at Appendix 1". Then, I would go on to write out the legal analysis and advice in full on the attendance note.

My general format is:

  1. Client Information
  2. Key Facts (i.e. about the assets and information on the deceased for wills, and information about the property and circumstances for property)
  3. Key Points the Client has asked
  4. Legal Advice + Any Professional Conduct Issues
  5. Next Steps

I appreciate that my question might be slightly confusing, haha! I'm generally feeling okay about the actual interview part, I'm just quite stressed about running out of time for handwriting the attendance note.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!! :)
