So, I'm a busy dad of three young children with usually 1, sometimes 2, hours of free time per day.

I have a ps5 and a switch 2, but am considering selling the ps5, i know people will say I'll regret it but have a look at my reasoning first. These are the reasons why:

Pros:

  1. Feeling a bit guilty about how much i play and want to play guitar more. I'd like to just play one game at a time and use the time id be playing other games for guitar. I recently started reading again and want a more balanced life, reading guitar, exercise, not just gaming every night.

  2. Stressed balancing 2 consoles and dont want 1 to sit unused. I guess my playstation account will always be there too, i could always get a ps6 in 5 years if I'm interested.

  3. Could use money from ps5 to start new switch physical collection

  4. More than enough games to keep me going

  5. Prefer nintendo exclusives these days

  6. I have a uk psn account but now live in an asian country and it's honestly a bit of a headache with uk prices and region locks

  7. Simplicity, from about 2020-2025, i really got into trophies. In the end , they were ruining games for me. I got myself to quit but I guess theyre in the back of my mind sometimes. I like the simplicity of the switch, no achievements, no chat, just turn it on and play a game.

Cons:

  1. The big one, miss out on gta 6 and wolverine, but I was thinking about how I really wanted ghost of yotei when it came out. I still haven't played it and often forget about it.

  2. new digital games are so expensive, 70 pounds on the uk store.

  3. Missing current exclusives. Yes, uncharted and last of us are some of my favourites but I've also beat them all 10 times.

  4. Lower fidelty (dont actually mind that much, can play handheld too on switch. I just tried the demos of final fantasy 7 and pragmata and thought they looked great both docked and handheld)

  5. Got lots of digital games on ps5 i havent played yet. Sunk cost fallacy? But again, there are enough games on switch 2 to last me a lifetime.

So, what do you guys think based on my circumstances? Does anyone have a switch 2 as their only console? How is it?

Thanks
