I'm going gift some to a friend for Easter tomorrow. I was hoping I could get away with making them late tonight so they'd be ready to go in the morning. But I can just forget that, if they're going to be sweaty/mushy/gross and I embarrass myself.

Some say refrigerating preserves freshness, line a container with towels to avoid strawberries "sweating".

Others say they're best stored on the counter if it's "within 24 hours" from eating (overnight)- refrigeration will make them gross.

Anyone have experience with making chocolate-covered strawberries? I might just have to wake up earlier because I'm anxious about gifting crappy strawberries.
