Need advice please, had a leaky shower from a previous owner/install, apparently done in 2009 by the name on a wall stud....so I have demoed several inches of mud with lath and black lining/tar paper, and am now facing the above, i pulled out the 3 inch cast iron drain piece, and have this blue section now looks like it is bolted to the floor??
The plan is to use a schluter kerdi pan rather than repack several inches for a a sloped shower pan, but this drain connection has me stumped. The waste pipe is 2 inch copper, what is the chance this top section threads on to the copper?
The remaining brown mud pack is about 1 1/2 inches thick before I hit the concrete floor of the condo, so not much room to do one of those the rubber shielded couplings, the copper waste pipe travels straight down through concrete about 18 inches into the parking garage and is soldered to a copper P trap, I dont think the HOA will allow me to remove the copper, but I havent asked either, hoping this top section threads off and I can do something to connect the kerdi or flo flex drain
Any help appreciated, thanks
