For those of you who are upset and might be feeling hopeless after yesterday's settlement and then seeing Blake peacocking on the Met Gala red carpet - remember that we ultimately hold the power here.

Blake and Ryan will only continue to get cast in projects and launch successful businesses if we consume that content or products. We ultimately have the power here.

If people don't watch their movies then they will stop getting offers. If RR's next released project bombs then it's going to make it that much harder for the next one to materialize for him. To quote a side character in this saga, "you're only as hot as your last hit, baby."

You still have the power as a consumer. So just remember that and take comfort in that if it helps you.

This morning I decided to go back and re-read the NY Times story that started it all. I thought it would be interesting, now that so much has been released, to see if I could figure out who was quoted. I assumed that the reporter would have contacted some of Blake's minions like Jenny Slate, Blandon, Vivian Baker, Blake and Ryan's trainer, or Colleen Hoover but maybe they would have request anonymity.

Imagine my surprise when I reread this article and realized the entire thing is just relying on text messages, her 17 point list, and her CRD complaint.

Why didn't MT try to interview others from the set to confirm some of those explosive allegations from the list?

For context, I studied journalism in school. I have also read a lot of books written by journalists on their long-form reporting.- including Megan Twohey's own book based on her Weinstein reporting. The common thread for these stories is that they often take months of reporting and rely on multiple sources.

I know many of you in this community have clocked this but as someone who still has faith in legacy media institutions and has watched local news orgs get gutted by PE, it is truly disappointing to see how shoddy this reporting was by such a respected news organization. I am shocked Megan's editors didn't ask for more corroboration from others on set before printing this.
