Can someone please tell me why my 5 month old whines/ cries before every nap and sleep. I’m following the age appropriate wake windows with huckleberry app. I’ve tried putting her to sleep sooner and later. I’ve tried putting her to sleep at the first sleep cue and I’ve tried delaying sleep with distraction to try and raise the sleep pressure. I’ve tried nursing to sleep, patting, shushing, white noise, rocking, contact, singing to her, talking to her, made the room warmer, made the room colder… I feel like I’ve tried every combination possible and it seems no matter what I do she ends up crying for half an hour while trying to fall asleep. And don’t just say “she doesn’t want to sleep” because trust me I’ve tried getting her back up once she starts crying and being like ok fine you don’t want to sleep but at that point she also doesn’t want to be awake so she will be crying like this regardless. I don’t want to be doing the “cry it out method” but that is basically what is happening at this point as she’s crying with me BESIDE HER ??
