Hi there. This is my second time around but first time (hopefully) getting to/beyond 12 months breastfeeding. I have outlined a plan in my mind and would love some feedback!
Because I work fulltime and baby is at daycare 5 days/wk, I currently pump throughout the day and only BF baby to bed (and if he wakes up overnight, which is pretty rare these days - knock on wood!).
We're 10.5 months into this journey. I abhor pumping but it is what it is! I'm hoping that once we hit 12 months, I'll begin introducing cows milk little by little into his daytime bottles and start weaning my pumps (currently at 4x/day) until I'm only nursing him to bed and for naps on the weekends. I'd love to get to 15-18 months like this - but is that just a wild pipedream?
Has anyone done similar? My big worry is that with the transition to full cows milk over time, he won't want to BF because it will taste different. But I really, really don't want to pump much beyond 12 months. I'm so ready to retire my pump.
