Hey everyone. I am still working on the mechanics for the crime module. Because of this, a release planned in the first week of May is not possible. Dev testing also takes a few weeks to complete from my side mainly to resolve bugs and optimization.

The crime module is the last feature, along with the height and weight systems which are integrated with deep connections. Once crime feature and mechanics are done i will be freezing further development and planning on shipping the game.

Thanks to all 150 members who are supporting and patiently waiting. I will make sure your patience worth it!

Height is now mathematically tied to your parent’s genetics, and your weight dynamically shifts based on the new Diet and Fitness subscriptions you choose. plus, in the next release, I'm wiring it so these stats actively trigger real life events that can change your playthrough.

Finally got the Escape Plan button wired up.I didn't want every prison break to feel exactly the same, so the mechanics actually change depending on where the judge sends you.

Minimum Security: You get this tense, timing based lockpicking minigame. you have 10 seconds to align the pins without messing up.

Maximum Security: you can't just pick a lock. you have to lay out a massive, multi-year escape plan that progresses over time while you serve your sentence.(In development)

but how is the UI looking, Is it the right way to go for prison escapes?

Quick dev preview for you guys. here is the beta layout for what happens after the judge sentences you.Built a roster for the guards and inmates. to keep dev time down, i actually just reused the layout from the main Relationship page for the inmate detail screens.still heavily tweaking things, but how is it looking?

Dropping some raw backend console logs today.

The engine builds a full dossier of your entire crime history every time you get caught. every region has its own sentencing multipliers and fine structure. the game remembers every crime you've ever committed , get caught mugging with a prior shoplifting charge and the judge is not treating that as a first offence. yes, the death penalty is coded in. No, petty theft won't trigger it.

Developing and dev testing with this level is getting tougher than expected. Doing my best to get this wrapped up before the next planned release but it's taking longer than expected but i'd rather ship it right than ship it broken. Appreciate every single one of you who's been following along, the support genuinely keeps me going

Quick update for you guys. first off, crazy to see the sub cross 100 members! appreciate all the feedback on the crime update so far.

since the shoplifting and interrogation UI is mostly locked in, i’m officially shifting focus to the actual consequences. currently heads down coding the prison page. when you get convicted, your normal life is paused and your wealth gets restricted. i'm wiring up the logic for main actions like interacting with inmates, going up for parole, fighting it with a legal appeal and planning a high risk escape.

Drop your best ideas for what else you should be able to do behind bars.

Took a break to work on the crime update. I wanted it to feel tense, so I added dynamic Heat and Catch Risk meters that update based on your choices in the aisles. If you fail, it drags you into an active police interrogation where you have to decide to take a plea or hire a lawyer for $6k. is this level of depth overkill for a basic life sim? Should I simplify it, or is this exactly the kind of immersion you guys want?
