Hi all, I'm a Clinical Research Assistant working at a large academic health system in a HCOL city. I'm doing the job of a research coordinator, independently running studies, and my salary is pretty low for my area (50k). At my yearly review, my leader said it takes about two years to get promoted to a Clinical Research Coordinator role but I'm on track for a promotion. I've been here for almost a year. I applied for a Clinical Research Coordinator position in another department, and I got invited for the second round interview. I wanted to hear from other CRCs who've been in similar circumstances, if I receive a job offer from another department should I try to use it to leverage a quicker promotion or just take the new offer?

I really like my current position, but I don't want to live at my parents house as a young adult in my mid 20s anymore, and the salary increase for a coordinator is significant. I believe one year of experience may be sufficient to become a coordinator, otherwise I probably wouldn't be a candidate for this role in another department, but I'm not sure.
