Hi all, I was wondering if anyone here knows how to face and cope with a needle specific phobia?
My housemate and dead friend is having some health issues and we are at the point where she will need a blood test to find what's wrong. The problem is she absolutely cannot face that. It's far too scary. She's an incredibly brave person and I hate to see her suffer like this. She just had a not very understanding or sympathetic a and e stay where they couldn't help her and sadly I couldn't be there with her.
So I'm trying to find ways to help her try to manage a blood test in the future, does anyone have any advice that maybe helped them manage a few necessary needles? I know phobias are life long and immense but I just wanted to ask if anyone had any suggestions at all or if not is there any way I can better be there for her as her friend?
I apologise if any of my wording sounded like I'm making light of the issue and thank you in advance for any help anyone can offer
