First time playing P3 in any form and have just gotten through October 4th…
Incredibly mixed thoughts. Things I love. things I hate, all hitting me at once. Clearest examples below:
Thing I Love- Literally no idea why but I felt an urge to do all of Shinji’s dorm hangouts before this point which I think plays a huge part in why this moment feels SO earned. Presume Atlus set it up so his hangouts are more accessible while he’s around but credit where it’s due they did it subtly enough that it didn’t clock it. He’s been here for 2 full moons and I’d give my life for the guy- he cooks, he gardens, he’s a teenager who’s slowly being killed by his own persona.
Thing I Hate- However… as far as i can remember up to this point, the game has had 3 actual cutscenes:
1- Showing off the new SEES P3R outfits
2- Takeba in the Heirophant Full Moon (completely unnecessary imo)
3- Junpei objectifying his friends on the beach
Are we seriously saying they all needed proper cutscenes and THIS only deserved an IN-ENGINE cutscene?!?! Insane to me.
Interested to know the thoughts of the community, no spoilers for beyond this though please as i’m only a couple days on.
