This is an update to my previous post about my Springfield Loaded from 2001. The pistol showed up and I found that the hammer only had two positions. 1/4 notch, and fully cocked with no half cocked (safety catch) in the middle. ( I would never carry half cocked) I removed the hammer and found no evidence of the middle notch being removed or modified. Today I called Springfield and, they confirmed that this was a factory feature for a while in that time frame. He assured me it was totally safe as the 1/4 position of the hammer would be sufficient to catch the hammer in the event of some sort of failure. I may still take the advice of some of you guys and change the hammer out, but I thought this was interesting information to put out there. Put the first 150 rounds through my new to me loaded. The gun looks nearly unfired and it ran great aside from the rear sight working loose. I have noticed that the gun has no half cock. Is this a problem for carry purposes or safety in general? Thanks in advance for any info as I’m still relatively new to 1911s. Edit: I’ve included a photo of the hammer. It has no second notch.

Purchased this last night, now I’m up at 1:30 am with buyers remorse haha. I hope I didn’t do too awful bad on it. I have noticed that most loaded guns come standard with an ambi thumb safety’s, while this one has a standard single sided one. Was there an option for the standard thumb safety, or do we think this one was swapped over? Either way I’m excited to shoot and carry this one

Hellos. I found this meter while cleaning some property for a friend. I understand that is a radiation meter. Is it safe to have and handle? What can you guys tell me about it? Thanks for any info.
