Was I wrong for refusing to heat up plastic coffee cup in the microwave?
Today a customer came in today asking for their coffee cup to be microwaved. Mind you it’s a coffee cup similar to the Starbucks coffee cup but with our own branding on it. One thing on the cup it states “DO NOT MICROWAVE” but the customer still insisted because we have done it before. I decided to grab a container that could have been microwaved but the customer rejected. My manager ended up coming in and we microwaved their cup. I told them I was sorry and stuff. Was I wrong for initially denying her service? I was worried about possible deformation of the cup or contamination of the coffee with the plastic lining melting due to microwaves.
