New to the IUD

A little background: I’m 21, never been pregnant, and have been on the pill for 6 years prior to getting the IUD. I’ve always had really bad periods and cramps, which is why I started birth control in the first place. I got the Kyleena IUD a little over a week ago. The cramping was horrendous on the first day— like strong period cramps but consistent— but it was livable. Second and third day it was a little better but by the fourth day and onwards I’ve felt fine. However, now I’m going on a week and a half and the cramps are almost worse than the first day I got it.

Today has been terrible with the cramping and bleeding. I feel really bloated and like I said, it feels almost worse than the first day I got it. I’m really nervous about it rejecting or becoming displaced if that’s possible this early. I have an appointment to see my gynecologist again in a few weeks to make sure that the placement is okay, but I don’t necessarily have the opportunity to go before then. I’d have to wait until the weekend is over to give the office a call and ask about it, but I’m wondering if it’s something I should even worry about? It really could just be my period, which I’d feel so stupid for worrying about it in the first place, but I am not due for it for another two weeks. I know hormones may get wacky so it is a possibility. I was just wondering what to do, has anyone gone through rejection before or know what it’s like? I’m really nervous my body is trying to reject it.
