Small to Medium Business Owners and Founders CEO/Founder Dashboard

For founders/CEOs who use a dashboard to stay organized, how do you decide what actually belongs there?

I’m trying to think through this from an operations perspective because too much visibility can easily turn into noise.

For example, I imagine a useful dashboard would probably show things like:
• decisions that need the founder’s input
• tasks or approvals that are blocking the team
• key numbers that need attention
• follow-ups that should not slip through
• updates that matter, without showing every tiny detail

But I’m curious how other business owners think about this in real life.

Do you prefer a high-level view where your team only escalates what needs your attention, or do you like having more detailed visibility across the business?

I’m not asking from a product or research angle. Just trying to better understand how founders keep themselves organized without turning the dashboard into another thing to manage.
