Anything to be done to avoid a fundo?

I met with my specialist today and he recommends it’s time for an anterior partial fundiplication.

I am on PPIs morning and night, don’t drink alcohol, modify the acid content in my food (okay my downfall is sugary foods) and bought a bed with a mattress you can position slanted and the PPIs appeared to be managing symptoms - but not anymore 😢

I wake up with a bad throat and find myself clearing my throat all day long.

At this point, I am freaking out about oesophageal cancer.

If surgery is my only option, then so be it BUT I am
Reading and discovering a lot on here about the gut and the role of the gut and bacteria - so please I need your suggestions for things to try to get this under control without surgery

I am worried about the side effects from surgery.

The final thing I am doing is weight loss I am down 4kg in 4 weeks by walking 25000 steps a day and being super strict with diet (no carbs, minimal sugar, maximum salads). I have around another 15 kg to go - bloody middle age weight gain creep

Really appreciate all your suggestions - thanks so much
