Hi, my cat (2y/o sterilized and vaccinated female) probably has colitis.
I want to preface this by saying that the reason i am here instead of the vet is that my other cat had an uveitis and we found out that he has leukemia + did an echo to rule out infectious peritonitis 3 weeks ago which cost upwards of 2k, we had to take donations to be able to pay.
So, Vivi, the cat in question here, has leukemia as well and may have FIV (confirmation test is already scheduled), she had an episode of intense constipation this winter and we switched to a salmon based diet which also has probiotics and prebiotics. She gets pumpkin every night and we are giving fortiflora a try. Her food is almost guaranteed to be hypoallergenic, she could not have parasites as my cats are indoors only.
A week ago i saw some fresh blood in her stool along with mucus, i checked her rectum which was inflamed, which tracks. Since then there has been no blood, but her poops are soft, stinky and have mucus.
I cannot comprehend what i am doing wrong, as far as i know she has everything set up to have a healthy gut.
Shes also showing decreased appetite but no other behavioral changes.
