In 2018, my mother was diagnosed with advanced uterine cancer. To save her life, we moved her from a government hospital to Apollo Hospital, where her treatment costs became overwhelming. In just 3 months, we spent nearly $50,000–$60,000. I took multiple loans, and my family sold our land just to keep her alive.
By God’s grace, she fought bravely for years… but in Jan 2023, just before a major surgery, my mother passed away suddenly due to cardiac arrest.
Losing her shattered me emotionally, mentally, and financially.
After her passing, I was left with nearly $10,000 in debt, and I worked day and night through full-time and part-time jobs to repay it.
But in 2024, tragedy struck again.
My bank account was hacked, all my hard-earned savings were stolen, and fraudulent loans were taken in my name. This pushed my total debt to almost $20,000
Today, I earn around $700 per month, but it is still not enough to manage the crushing EMIs, harassment from recovery agents, and daily humiliation at my home and workplace.
This constant burden has caused severe anxiety, depression, and moments of complete hopelessness.
I am still fighting.
I am still trying to rebuild my life.
