Stelo?
I’m thinking of ditching Libre Freestlye 3+ for Stelo. Please tell me where my thinking is flawed, if you think it is.
I’m getting so many ‘urgent lows’ throughout the 24 hour period that I’m totally frustrated. When I check with the glucometer, it is NEVER low. When I get a high reading, it usually is high but not waaay out of line.
I am awakened several times a night by the low alarm; these are not compression lows. I always do a personal check (how do I feel? always good) before I do a stick. The alarm will continue to go off until it gets a good reading. It will rise without me eating anything.
I am 73. I am not on insulin. I‘m currently taking 12.5 Mounjaro. My most recent A1c was 5.5. I am a ‘foodie’ and I want to track my trends so I do want to have some sort of tracker beyond finger sticks.
I know that I would have to pay for Stelo; Freestyle is free through my DME coverage. $84 dollars a month with no alarms is sounding good to me right now. As far as I can tell, Stelo, made by Dexcom, is within 20% accurate--as good as what I’m getting with the freestyle.
Has anyone else tried this? Do I even make sense?
