Need help regarding with Anime Matsuri tickets and Eventbrite.
So, first off, I'd like to clear up why I'm posting here. The Eventbrite subreddit said I'm not allowed to post in there as it's a restricted subreddit; so I'm hoping I can put this here.
I'n looking for help to figure out what to do before the convention starts in a few months.
For context:
My little brother is the one that bought the tickets as he wants to attend the con again. They were bought through Eventbrite. We're locals to Houston and barely have the time to travel out of state until necessary (for example: we recently went to Los Angeles for me to attend FFXIV's Fanfest), so we go to the cons that are local to us. He also bought these tickets as soon as the con last year ended as he wanted to go again, which comes to the main issue to why I'm posting this.
He unfortunately cannot attend anymore. In two days, he's being sent off to do military training (by his own will) and he'll be gone until the end of this year; literally passing over the days Anime Matsuri is live. So, to not waste the tickets, my brother wants me to go in his stead and has been trying to change the ticket under my name or get it transferred to my Eventbrite account to no avail. We've also been trying to contact the organizers through the app with no response back, we contacted them of a total of three times too. Nothing back from them.
This isn't an issue of wanting to refund the tickets (and the shirt). He just wants to change the name to mine so I can go to the con for him. So, here's the big question:
If we can't get them to change the ticket name, will I still be able to attend if I have the tickets he shared to me? The tickets has the QR code on it and it shouldn't be a problem if I explain it to the staff. I just don't want to waste money for a hotel room (since I don't live nearby the convention center; I live near Chinatown) if I'm not allowed to attend despite explaining everything and having his tickets.
I just want to know if I'm still able to attend the convention when my brother provided me his ticket and we aren't able to get the name changed to mine.
