HP EliteBook 850 G3 Overheating (Air Leakage)
I noticed overheating problem for my HP EliteBook 850 G3, Core i7 6th generation (second-hand). So, I opened the bottom-panel to see what's the issue. I cleaned the dust, and applied new thermal pasting. But still the problem was not resolved. So, I opened the panel again, and noticed that there was a gap in heat sink (I think, I don't exactly know what it's called, but the image is attached).
All the air was escaping from there. I also covered it with the paper tape (I didn't have foam tape). After covering the gap with paper tape, the air WAS coming out from the vent, but was very little and warm (not very hot), even when the laptop was around at 70 degrees. One more thing, when the gap is opened (not sealed with the tape), the air that releases from it, is cool (even when the laptop is extremely hot).
The vent is to the left of the image (parallel to the gap)
There aren't any good repairing shops around me, so I decided to post here. I am not a computer guy. Any help would be appreciated.
