Encounter ideas for a level 9 party on the way up the Kodar Mountains

So, my silly party is finally about to scale the mountains. They did a funny on me and decided essentially on tracing the path of Rise of the Runelords because they wanted to go to Xin-Shalast on foot. After travelling with some Shoanti across the Storval Plateau and fighting off some issues around Vekker's Crossing, they are about to begin their ascent.

I've got a lot of scripted random Set Piece Encounters but I need some more interesting random fights. The party likes random encounters for overland travel and I feel like I'm running out of Fun Guys to use in a cold mountain biome.

We use Foundry so the Scale to Level feature is an option is anything especially fun shows up.

So far, I have a paleohemith fight, some young brine dragons, a pack of friendly yeti who can help the party a bit, some frost giants encamped, and I'm working on seeding in a sort of overarching threat for this leg of the journey of a variant Siabrae I'm developing to give the vibe of the old 1e wendigo up near Vekker's Cabin without the cultural concerns of using that creature.

Any monsters or creatures y'all can think of that may help hammer home the 'there is a horrible presence of isolation and frozen desperation here'? Or any cold-themed monsters that may be less-common? Even some 1e creatures I could adapt for 2e would work.

I've been playing PF for like 15 years and for some reason I'm having trouble thinking up some interesting beasties.

Party is level 9 but tends to hit WAY above their weight class. They picked a fight against a level 13 scaled-down Linnorm at one point earlier this level and sent it to clown town.

I've seen some screenshots of people exploring beyond the wall; there's a surprising number of structures and such out there. Is there some glitch or mod people or using or is this a 'do not talk about it' sort of topic?

I'm always into exploring unfinished portions of games so it sort of interests me.
