I repair old audio equipment. One item (fully working) that has accumulated plenty of dust on the bench is a Kenwood KR100, very early solid state receiver, very nice looking. The tuner dial is a blackout design that in the years, probably before I was even born, became heated and flaked off of the glass it is barely adhered to. I scanned the dial and restored the missing parts of it in my spare time, well, over a year ago. I just can't set it up anywhere with the glaring light shining through the open holes and many cracks that are only visible with the black light.
Being unfamiliar with the kind of products that should be used, or even where to obtain a finished decal, I have pushed it to the side far too long.
I have the image, but really haven't located anyone who would print a one off decal, or even a service where I could convey what it is that I want.
I should allow little to no light through the negative space, which is the majority of it, sans the numbers and dial increments. The numbers and logo are colored, but I can take care of that with transparency film after the decal is adhered to the glass. I just don't know about materials, or even where to printed/cut, whatever happens there.
So who knows about such things? Any input is appreciated.
