Thigh pain, hip mri
Hip MRI results below. Could this cause front and outer side thigh pain? Pain when standing, walking, going up stairs, getting up from sitting, when bending down to pick something up and putting on socks. MRI is from 2 years ago.
I also have herniated discs, but not severe, but maybe hip is contributing to the pain?
T1-weighted, proton density, T2-weighted coronal images of the hip were taken. I ighted and proton density axial and proton density sagittal images were also obtained. STIR coronal images of the pelvis and both hips were also taken.
Findings:
There is a moderately large hip joint effusion.
Within the joint capsule, there are areas of synovial hypertrophy. This is likely evidence of synovitis. There is articular cartilage thinning on the humeral head. Small chondral defects are present. There is loss of articular cartilage on the acetabulum. No bone erosion can be identified. There is a small femoral osteophyte.
There is a small amount of edema/inflammatory change adjacent to the right greater trochanter.
No tendon tear identified.
Muscles and tendons around the hip show no abnormality.
No intrapelvic abnormality identified.
