Has anyone here have experience deploying ANDSolar optimizers and a gateway (AMCP & ADCU, respectively)? I’m considering this setup for the following reasons:

Setup:

  • 12 × 620W bifacial panels
  • Deye 6KW SG04 SM2 inverter
  • AllTopElec 400Ah (pending installation)
  1. PV1 has 6 panels facing west but experiences time-based shading from 7 AM to 12 noon.
  2. PV2 also has 6 panels—3 facing east and 3 facing west. There’s minor shading from 8 AM to 12 noon, specifically affecting substring 1 (my panels have 3 bypass diodes).
  3. My neighbor in front of my house has a grid-tie solar setup, which I believe uses 2 strings with 3 panels each (around 400W–580W per panel). His energy harvest is roughly 40%–50% higher than mine between 7 AM and 11:30 AM—possibly because his strings are properly balanced, while mine (especially PV2) is mismatched (see #2 above).

Because of this, I’m considering installing optimizers—probably prioritizing PV2 first, then PV1 later.

Deye’s offering seems okay, but the supplier is out of stock of the concentrator (gateway). They also don’t have any information on when (or if) they’ll restock. Currently, they only have the Model B optimizer available, and not Model A. I believe Model B will not work without a concentrator. That's where model A comes in - as a standalone.

Thoughts?
