Where'd you go, young prophet?
You used to be so curious
in the ways of the world.
Now you wonder nothing,
except how to get high
and what it's all for.
Where'd you go, young writer,
singer, lover,
friend?
You used to chase shooting stars
and fall out of trees
dancing to the drumbeats of rivers and
playing notes the birds taught you.
Now you listen to old songs
and kick rocks and pretend you're some kind of Kerouac.
But that denim jacket ain't foolin' nobody.
You're lost,
aren't you?
