Has anyone here used the BOI Mortgage Saver and made additional lodgements on top of the monthly DD?

On the T&C's it says 'you can make additional payments of up to a total value of €20,000', 'these must be presented as a cheque or bank draft'.

Can I lodge an extra 1/2k a month if I have it, up to a total value of €20,000 or can I just make one lumpsum lodgement as long as it's below €20,000?

I bank with BOI, so if it needs to be done by bank draft I'm guessing I just need to visit the bank and they can do a draft from my current account to saver account.
