Moderate-High Groundwater Flood Risk on Environmental Search
Hi all,
I am a FTB who has recently had an offer accepted on a 3 bed end of terrace house which ticked all the boxes I was looking for.
Yesterday, my solicitor forwarded me the environmental search survey they had done. This has passed in terms of contaminated land, but has highlighted a moderate flood risk, mainly due to a ‘moderate-high’ groundwater flood risk.
Not really sure on how to interpret this currently. There is no history of flooding in the area but this finding has got me concerned.
Is this a dealbreaker? What other information should I find out regarding the property? Will this pose any issues regarding insurance?
As a FTB I’m new to all of this, and so some advice on how to interpret this result and what to do next would be much appreciated.
