I'm preparing to build my first fence and I'm planning to use the Lifetime posts because I can't find Postmaster in Virginia. I'm building a 6' pine privacy fence.

I'm planning to dig 32" then set them in concrete. My understanding is that for a 6' fence, I need the pickets 6" above the top of the posts. 32" + 6" + 66" is 104" which is just under 9'. If I need to go 36" on corners for some reason, do I just need to get 9' posts or will 8' somehow work? The box stores only stock the 8' so I'm having a hard time figuring out exactly which way to go with the posts.
